Saundra Emerson, Founder, RYT Yoga Therapy & Yin Yoga
I’ve been teaching since 1987 with certifications in Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Aerobic Kickboxing, and Strength Training.
On 12-6-06, I experienced a stroke which temporarily paralyzed my left arm & leg. To heal, I developed my own therapeutic blend of Yoga, Qigong, and meditation. I’m happy to say that I’ve achieved almost complete recovery. As someone who has experienced recovery in her own life, I would like the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with you.
My goal as a teacher is for everyone to enjoy yoga. Using basic poses and simple exercises, my classes are especially suited for those who’ve avoided yoga because of their lack of flexibility, low fitness level, past injuries or chronic pain.Yoga will strengthen and massage muscles and joints from head to toe, leaving you refreshed and restored.
Typically, the study of asana relies on the repetitive, physical performance of yoga poses to eventually reveal their underlying depth. All students, regardless of experience, can deepen their practice by approaching asana first as a subtle, energetic experience, and second as physical action.
Remember, it is not the destination but the journey that is important. We are on a journey of discovering more peace, stillness, clarity, flexibility, strength and mobility. Our Yoga practice is the journey, the destination unfolds in our life.
